Reverend Reginald “Chub/Bubba” Funderburke

Reverend Reginald “Chub/Bubba” Funderburke was born on August 15, 1961 to the late Johnnie and Mamie Funderburke. He went to be with the Lord on Tuesday July 7, 2020. He was educated in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. Reginald became a member of Oak Grove

Missionary Baptist Church at a very young age. His passion was always gospel music/music entertainment and he was an exceptional musician and songwriter. He sung with many groups throughout his journey, some including: The Sensational Monarchs, Joe Wilson and the

Disciples, The Sensational Travelers, The Golden Crowns, Brian Mayes and Heaven bound, both The Original and Gospel Drifters, and The Soul Stirrers. He led two groups of his own; one being Resurrection and the other being The Anointed Temples in which he stated was God’s given vision. Reginald was very outspoken and often misunderstood; but to know him was to

love him. He was a “kid magnet” and an animal lover. Reginald had an amazing effect on everyone he crossed paths with. We will continue to celebrate his life and his legacy by keeping alive the music he most loved.
